Terms and conditions
Last updated: June 2026.
By using Mind the Kerb you agree to these terms.
What we do
Mind the Kerb is a citizen-mapping project that collects dropped-kerb data for inclusion in OpenStreetMap. We're not a commercial service.
What you do
You contribute kerb data accurately and in good faith. You don't submit false reports, malicious content, or anything you don't have the right to contribute.
You agree that your contributions are released as open data under the Open Database License (ODbL) — essentially, free for anyone to use — and may be re-used by anyone. When data is later uploaded to OpenStreetMap it becomes part of OSM and is governed by OSM's contributor terms from that point.
What we promise
We treat your data as set out in our privacy notice.
We don't promise uptime, availability, or that the project will continue forever. It's a pilot; if it doesn't work out, we may close it down.
What we don't do
We don't take responsibility for decisions made using the data — routing, accessibility planning, and so on. The data is community-contributed and may have errors.
We don't take responsibility for what's in OpenStreetMap once your data is there — that's OpenStreetMap's domain.
Accounts and content
If you create an account, we can delete it for serious misuse — sustained false reporting, harassment, and the like. Our policy is to mute first; deletion is for extreme cases.
You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced at the top of this page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland.
